Both Guy and Maxim have 999 atack, thanks to power pots, and Maxim has near max HP with Maxed GUT (whatever that does).Simple strategy here, cast Valor every round (though by this level Champion probably would've sufficed but with Selan and Arty's MP it doesn't matter) whilst Maxim boosts the attack power of him and Guy. Bunny swords hit massive here. Though Arty's first hit says 9999 it's really more like 15k damage (Double whatever Selan hit is what he hit).Because my characters have really high stats this match was easy. Guy survived several times with barely any health left and once with exactly 2 HP!Defeating Gades in Gordovan is something most people cannot accomplish in a regular game (though it's still possible), and one would think doing it in a low level is not an option. I remembered watching videos by Xuxon ('hyperspaced' on YouTube) who managed to beat Gades at an average level of 12.5. The experience distribution done prior to that battle was, as I understand it, carried out to ensure that Guy and Maxim gain all the mandatory experience from prior boss battles, as with their HP, far superior to the women's, they are the two characters who can withstand Gades's attacks.My situation is quite different. Maxim is left at his minimum possible level (lv. 6) and therefore cannot hope to survive any of Gades's attacks. Guy is two levels below Xuxon's and has problems surviving either the physical blow or the Destructo Wave (latter due to his awful magic resistance). To replace Maxim, I had to powerlevel with Tia a bit and raised her to lv. 26. This doesn't conflict with the LLG's rules at all (unless you're doing it hardcore and not allowing any extra levels for temporary characters), as Tia is about to permanently leave the party. However, Gades still kills the two, even if equipped with the best available items. That means buffs should be cast during the first turn. The capsule monsters cannot increase our stats at this point, so their only purpose is to take damage from Gades on the first turn while our party reduces his offensive attributes and enhances own. Everyone enters with the IP bar full, Maxim and Guy casting Menace to diminish the power of his physical attacks, Tia casting Ironclad on Guy to improve his defence and Selan casting Spell Repel on Guy to boost his magic resistance a bit. The next turn, knowing that Tia will be hit (successfully surviving thanks to standing in the back row), I have Maxim use a Statue to get Tia back to full health, Selan increases Guy's MGR once again (this is important!), Guy uses Battle Lust to power up further attacks and Tia uses Ironclad again, this time on herself. Next turn is Destructo Wave time! Maxim and Selan die, Tia and Guy barely survive it. Guy is now ready to begin attacking while Tia is on a healing duty until the end of the battle when Guy has to die not to gain any experience and Tia should finish the boss off. When Guy has enough IP, he uses Blaze Attack (triple fire-elemental damage). In other cases, he attacks normally, which actually does double damage as I equipped the Undead Ring (adds the light element to attacks, to which Gades is weak to). It's almost ready so expect it in a few days.- Once I'm done with the exams, I'll get my capture card fixed and record more PS2 games.The five bosses fought before Artea joins displayed in this video aren't too hard, but still took some attempts to get it right. We fight Idura for the second and third times. The second form hasn't got much health so Dekar kills him quickly with the help of Gades Blade. The third one takes too long for Dekar to solo so I revived everyone, had them attack and killed off all but Dekar so that no unwanted experience would be gained. I actually used a second Gades Blade here, which I found during one of my Ancient Cave trips. Ironically, once Dekar leaves, there's no real point in having more than one Gades Blade.Rogue Flower is the trickiest part, as Selan's AC equipment didn't help her survive the boss's offence at all, mostly due to the annoying status effects (I had no protection against them whatsoever). Blaze is able to reduce boss's HP by around 40% with just one attack and despite being very vulnerable is of great value in this battle. I didn't count the boss's HP here (it's sometimes a must, but in fights like this ruins the fun), and when I thought there was no more point in trying to defend I used the IP attack of the element the boss is weak to and it died.The fourth battle is a joke, as Lexis can be levelled as much as we please and I gave him AC equips too.For the last battle, Lexis is at lv. 56. What the kupo, you will ask. I wanted to evolve Flash to the master level as its light elemental attacks will be of great use against most later bosses (weak to light), and I had to kill a crapload of dragon parties until I got that stupid dark fruit necessary for evolution. Wasn't an easy process, I tell you.Lexis leaves after the fifth battle so I suppose all AC equipment must be taken off (if I'm wrong here, I've just made this otherwise easy battle harder for me, boo hoo). It can't seem to be done solo, so I revived Selan and Guy and had them help out. The bosses are flying so Eagle Rock's IP deals rather impressive damage to them. After this, Artea joins. Cool. As you can see, I didn't even need to put the weaker members of the party in the back row, nor did I need to charge Dekar's IP. After that, I made me first raid of the Ancient Cave. In this video, I show the battle against the Jelly. By the time I had to write this description, I had already finished farming for blue chest items in the AC for future boss battles. That doesn't mean, however, that I've got everything I wanted. I'll see if I ever need to return to the sidequest. Depends on how much luck I'll have with the next bosses.

This was my 5th or 6th attempt at recording the video, since I never made it on the previous attempts.Anyways, the main damage dealers are Selan with the Cold Rapier's IP and Blizzard spell and occasionally Dekar with Fire Dagger's IP.When Idura summons a Follower, do note that he has 300 HP and is weak to Fire, which is why you see me using Flame Charms on it.Altogether not a terribly difficult battle, but it may take a few tries.; http://youtube.com/watch?v=Vov5M1X_vkI
